On the fiftieth anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (December 10, 1998), the AAAS joined with the Digital Freedom Network and a coalition of 15 free speech and scientific organizations which launched an email campaign on behalf of the two jailed Chinese scientists charged with using the Internet to promote democracy.
