News and Events
Current: The Coalition Working Group on Ethics and Human Rights assisted in the development of a brief questionnaire aimed at identifying how scientists and engineers view their responsibilities. Complete the questionnaire.
   
7/11/13: The July meeting of the Coalition will explore challenging conceptual questions about the meaning and implementation of the right to enjoy the benefits of scientific progress and its applications ("Article 15"), including those raised by open access to data and in the context of international research collaborations.
   
6/21/13: The Coalition Working Group on Service to the Human Rights Community and On-call Scientists will offer a workshop in Washington, DC on Evaluating Human Rights Projects.
Member Activities
4/24/13: American Anthropological Association has written a letter urging the Guatemalan government to take action to prevent threats, attacks, and killings that have been reported in indigenous areas of that country.
   
4/13/13: Association of American Geographers awards student first place for his work identifying human rights violations in Darfur.
   
4/8/13: Psychologists for Social Responsibility released an open letter to the US President and Secretary of Defense about the ongoing hunger strike at Guantánamo Bay.
