Meeting of the AAAS Science and Human Rights Coalition Council

July 14, 2011

The Coalition Council met on Thursday, July 14, 2011 (1:00–5:00 pm). The objectives of the meeting were:

• to review progress in engaging scientific and engineering associations in human rights, and bringing human rights to their membership;
• assess progress in the implementation of the Joint Initiative;
• consider an outreach strategy for engaging students and underrepresented disciplines and fields of practice in the Coalition’s activities; and
• initiate an evaluative and planning process aimed at setting an ambitious agenda for the Coalition in 2012-2014.

The Council meeting was followed by the Coalition meeting on July 15.
