Third Meeting of the AAAS Science and Human Rights Coalition

January 22, 2010

Join us for the third meeting of the AAAS Science and Human Rights Coalition which is being held at AAAS Headquarters in Washington, DC on Friday, January 22, 2010 (8.30am-7:00pm). All members, affiliates and interested scientists are invited to attend.

The third meeting of the Coalition will open with a panel of experts who will address the ethical and human rights challenges arising when scientific research takes place in a military context, the meeting will continue with sessions, working meetings, and trainings relevant to the application of human rights in the work of scientists and scientific associations. Sessions include: Hearing From Survivors of Human Rights Violations; The Right to the Benefits of Scientific Progress; Volunteer Programs of Scientific Associations; and Human Rights 101 for Scientists: Economic, Social and Cultural Rights.
