Discrimination

  • States parties shall refrain from engaging in any act of practice of discrimination against women (CEDAW Article 2,d) and to ensure that public authorities and institutions shall act in conformity with this obligation and to take all appropriate measures, including legislation, to codify or abolish existing laws, regulations, customs and practices whish constitute discrimination against women (CEDAW Article 2,f)
  • shall take all appropriate measures to modify the social and cultural patters of conduct of men and women, with a view to achieving the elimination of prejudices and customary and all other practices which are based on the idea of inferiority or the superiority of either of the sexes or on stereotyped roles for men and women (CEDAW Article 5,a)

Ethics

Expression

Fair

  • Everyone is entitled in full equality to a fair and public hearing by an independent and impartial tribunal, in the determination of his rights and obligations and of any criminal charge against him (UDHR Article 10)

Health

  • States Parties shall take the necessary measures to protect the health of their people and to ensure that they receive medical attention when they are sick (AC Article 16,2)

Interference

  • No one shall be subjected to arbitrary or unlawful interference with his privacy, family, home or correspondence, nor unlawful attacks on his honor and reputation (ICCPR Article 17,1)
