Famine Early Warning System Network (FEWS Net)

FEWS Net is a USAID-funded collaboration of international, national and regional partners that works to strengthen the abilities of African countries and regional organizations to manage the risk of food insecurity through the provision of timely and analytical early warning and vulnerability information. The organizations make contributions to the field of mapping and human rights through their work on food security monitoring and analysis, which utilizes satellite data and geospatial technologies. Much of the data used by FEWS Net is disseminated through their public-domain web portal.
