Description:This article suggests that biotechnology will help meet the food demands of a world population that will grow by at least 50 percent in our children’s lifetime. By increasing yields on land already in production, we will be able to prevent the conversion of sensitive areas, such as rainforests and wildlife habitat, to crop production.
