CIDSE is concerned about trade liberalisation and its impact on food security in developing countries. The CIDSE Task Group on EU, Trade and Food Security (TG1) focuses in particular on the question of patenting of life forms (regulated by the Agreement on Trade Related Intellectual Property Rights, or TRIPs Agreement) and the Agreement on Agriculture. |
