Description:The Global Terrestrial Observing System (GTOS)mission is to provide the scientific and policy-making community with access to the data necessary to manage the change in the capacity of terrestrial ecosystems to support sustainable development.fulfills its mission through a number of complementary activities which include networking, development of regional programmes, and through demonstration projects. Among its highest priorities is the strengthening of communication between the many groups of the environmental data provider and user community. In most of its projects, GTOS serves in the role of a broker, bringing people of different fields of expertise together at one table.
