Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research, Climate Change, Ozone Depletion and Human Health

Date:29 October 2001
Description:This Co-operative conducts studies of the health impacts of climate change and variability and depletion of stratospheric ozone. Each of these two global environmental changes poses major challenges to population health research; a multidisciplinary approach is essential. Although there is some interplay between these two global changes, there are distinct health implications of each. These include, particularly, the health impacts of thermal stress, extreme weather events, and altered patterns of infectious disease in relation to climate change, and skin cancer and eye disorders in relation to ozone depletion.
