Therefore, we would like to inform you about the information we do collect about you, and to explain why we collect this information and how we use it. In general, we collect as little information about you as possible, and we don't share any personal or personally identifiable information with any third party.
Our servers automatically collect some data from every visitor to our sites. For example, our servers recognize your domain name and the pages that you visit. These data are gathered automatically in an aggregate manner so that we know how many people have visited our site and what pages or files they have used. We do not in any way identify or analyze individuals within these data.
We may ask for some personally identifiable information about you when you are at our site. We may ask for such things as as your name, telephone number, or email address. We use this information for such purposes as maintaining an email list of people who want to receive news and alerts, or for registering people for meetings and events. We also post surveys and job or internship applications to our site.
We do not currently conduct any online business transactions, so we do not collect any personal financial information.
While we do not share our servers' log files with any third party, we may make some aggregate statistics about site and page visits available.
Any personal information about you, however, is regarded as strictly private and confidential. The Program currently does not share, disclose, or sell any information collected online with other companies, organizations, or even other units of AAAS. If we ever need to distribute your information, we will contact you to ask your permission first. If you deny us permission or if we are unable to contact you, then we will not share your information.
In addition, the Program's website does not create any files on your computer without your permission. Such files, usually called cookies, are often used by websites to record and monitor personal information and preferences.
If you have any questions or concerns about this policy or about information we may have collected from you, please contact us. We will take reasonable steps to verify your identify before granting access or making corrections to your information.
